Poodle Plays Mom for 4 Tiny Kittens!

FLORIDA – Back in May, a box of kittens was found abandoned near the FSU stadium and a kind Samaritan brought them to Northwood Animal Hospital. Inside were two 4-week-old kittens and five that were just 2 weeks old.

Fortunately for the kitties, an employee at the hospital had a poodle named Vannah nursing three pups of her own, and she proved to be quite a generous dog. She nursed all four of the young kittens along with her brood.

Once the kittens were old enough to chow down on their own, they returned to Northwood for their vaccinations and routine care.

Three of these poodle-cat babies are still available for adoption through Companion Animal Rescue Endeavor. CARE is a local nonprofit that focuses on sick and injured homeless animals and their number is (850) 385-8181.

Amore, Trevor and their sister Crush have all been declared FeLV/FIV negative, have started on their dewormings and kitten vaccines, have been “fixed” and are ready for their new homes. The three are all litterbox trained and get along quite well with dogs (imagine that) and gentle humans of all ages.
