Roto-Rooter Plumber Heroically Saves Helpless Kitten Trapped in Drain!

CALIFORNIA – Friday September 23, started just like any other evening for Roto-Rooter assistant manager Mike Jennings.

He had just finished an estimate for a water heater repair within the Citrus Heights community of Crosswoods. On his way over into the job, he had noticed several Sacramento Metro Fire units and Citrus Heights police cars which were parked on the main road of the intersection between Auburn Boulevard and Crosswoods Parkway.

After leaving the job just about an hour later and noticing the fire units and police still on the scene. And so, Jennings decided to take a closer look.

Arriving at the scene, Jennings noticed that the police and firemen were frantically working on the storm drain and manhole. When Jennings approached and asked what was going on, a fireman explained to him that there was a trapped kitten that they had been working to free for close to three hours.

Jennings immediately let them know that he would be able to help and quickly sprung to action.

Utilizing his sewer camera, Jennings was successfully able to locate and rescue the trapped kitten in roughly 10 minutes time.

Seeing that the kitten was doing just fine, the crowd that had been gathering around cheered.

According to Citrus Heights Crime Watch, one of the policemen reporting to the scene has decided to adopt the kitten.

The wee one has since been named Stormy!

“I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time as well as having access to the training and knowledge afforded to me by working at Roto-Rooter,” admitted Jennings. “Utilizing the skills and equipment I use every day at work, I was just happy that I was able to rescue the kitten and so quickly.”
