Cuddle With Some Cats at This Election Night Party as the Results Roll In!

NEW YORK – Attempt to regain your sanity as the election results come rolling in by cuddling up with some feline friends Tuesday night in Brooklyn Heights.

The Brooklyn Cat Cafe, which is located at 149 Atlantic Ave., will be hosting an election night “comfort” party from 8 p.m. all the way up to midnight.

The cafe, where about a dozen or so adoptable cats roam free, will be screening the election results on a projector, as well as some funny cat videos interspersed throughout to “help reduce the tension,” a listing for the event states.

The watch party is meant to help bring a bit of humor to what’s been a tumultuous election season, said Anne Levin, president Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, which runs the cafe.

“It’s been kind of a traumatic election season,” Levin stated. “The cat cafe is a comforting place, kind of a zen environment.”

The cafe will provide some snacks and also drinks, which will include beer from Brooklyn Brewery, and guests can play with the cats as needed for election night support.

Newt — the cafe’s mascot cat, who will even be dressed up as Wonder Woman — will also be giving kisses and snuggles to anyone who comes in with proof that they voted.

“Newt supports voting,” Levin stated.

Tickets cost $30 in advance or will cost $35 at the door, and seating is limited. The proceeds will support medical and dental work for the cats of the cafe.

The watch party is open to guests who are 21 and over. To purchase tickets, please visit CatCafeBK.com.

For those who aren’t able make it out Tuesday night, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe’s 24/7 Live Kitten Cam will be streaming all night.
