Utah Cat Recovering After Being Shot in the Head and Leg With Blow Darts
AdminSPANISH FORK, UTAH – A cat is currently recovering after being shot in the head and leg with blow darts.
Dr. Isaac Bott with the West Mountain Animal Hospital said the cat was discovered by a family while they were walking along the Spanish Fork River Trail.
They gently pulled her out of a rose bush and carried the injured cat just about two miles back to their car.
Dr. Bott said the cat, “Miss Kiss,” had a very large bore steel blow dart embedded deep inside her head; it stopped just above her left eye.
She had a second dart which entered her leg.

The risky operation to remove the darts was a complete success.
Mere days have passed she is improving and eating on her own but will have permanent brain damage.
She is out of the hospital and in the care of a foster family.
Her surgery and care so far has cost over $2,020 and could rise if she needs additional operations.
