UNITED KINGDOM – This man struggled to break free of his addiction to alcohol and his cat remained at his side, which inspired him to be a better man.
Robin Barry shared his story and considered himself, for many years, more of a dog person than a cat person.
One day, his wife adopted a kitten while he was in rehab and she named the kitten ‘Frank’.
When Robin returned home and met Frank for the first time, he immediately fell in love with the kitten and the kitten fell in love with him, too.
Very quickly, Frank became Robin’s number one supporter in remaining sober.
When Frank the cat got sick two years later with some stomach issues, Robin just knew what he had to do. He and his wife had been saving for a holiday with all the money he had not spent on alcohol, but they never ended up taking their trip.

Instead, Robin spent all of the money paying for the best possible vet care for Frank and ended up saving his life.
Because of his loyalty, Frank the cat became one of the three finalists in the Cats Protection’s National Cat Award 2016.
There were literally hundreds of contestants, but Frank’s amazing story qualified him as one of the top nominees.
Robin is eternally grateful for Frank and to this day, they are completely inseparable!
