CALGARY, CANADA - Officials say that a pair of black kittens is safe and sound after they were found inside a bag which was sitting among donations in the northwest Calgary neighborhood of Brentwood Wednesday.

A worker with the Cerebral Palsy Association was at one of their donation boxes early in the morning on November 11 and was startled to find the cats.

“Like most mornings, there are a lot of donations left outside and as he was bringing them inside the pod, he picked up the backpack,” Joanne Dorn, a representative with the association said. “It felt quite heavy and it was moving. He opened it to find a little surprise – these two kittens.”

This pair of kittens was found on the inside a backpack which was dumped at a donation box in Brentwood on November 11, 2015.

Dorn has no idea why anyone would have left the kittens behind at the box.
The animals were super hungry and scared, but appear to be doing well.

They are being housed at Dorn’s home until eventually being turned over to the Humane Society.
