This is the story of Pheonix!
This beautiful cat was “hiding out” at a laundromat and apparently got too close to one of the dryers, which is where she was “slightly burned.”
This was only the beginning of Pheonix’s nightmare.
“At that time, it appeared her burns were mostly superficial. But after a day or two they worsened, which is often the case with burn injuries,” Megan Rees of Dumb Friends League told Amy of Love Meow.
Despite her delicate condition it was reported that Pheonix always maintained a strong spirit and never lost touch with her inner purr.
“Since the day she arrived, Phoenix was nothing but sweet with everyone that came into contact with her,”
“Our chief veterinarian performed surgery to remove the burned skin and he did a skin graft on her ears. Despite all her pain and discomfort, Phoenix would purr throughout her veterinary exams and seek affectionate from all of our staff who were helping to treat her,” Rees told Amy.
Now, what about Pheonix’s forever human?
Her name is Gloria and she has a story much like the story of Pheonix!
At the tender age of 16 she was involved in an accident within her home which left her face and hands and neck serious burned.
She admitted that at the time, she wasn’t looking for a cat to adopt but after reading Pheonix’s story for herself she thought, “When something is meant to be, the world gets real small.”
From the moment they met, Pheonix and Gloria connected deeply,
as if they were destined to be in each others lives.
“It was the perfect match!” Rees told Love Meow.
And so it is!
