image-22-minBROOKLYN, NEW YORK - NYPD cops rescued a stray kitten on Monday afternoon after the cat got stuck in the wheel well of a car. Police Officers Christopher Rinelli and Kenia Marte, both assigned to the NYPD Strategic Response Group, were flagged down by a motorist at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Sherman Street which are in Brooklyn. The woman told the officers that a black kitten ran into the street causing traffic to stop and when she got out of her car she saw the kitten run up inside the wheel well of her vehicle.

Officers Rinelli and Marte immediately began to look for the kitten, but were not able reach it because it had climbed up into the undercarriage of the car. The officers used a jack to lift the vehicle and then removed the wheel where the kitten was located and were able to reach the kitten.

Although cold and wet, the kitten appeared to be in good shape.

The owner of the car says she intends to adopt the two-month-old kitten.

She has yet think of a name for this lucky wee one!
