Some of the cats believed to have fallen victim to the Croydon cat killer.
A street cleaner reportedly made this grim discovery between 5.30am and 6am on Monday, January 18.
The Met Police confirmed that a PCSO on routine patrol in the Crystal Palace area received a report of two cats who were discovered in adjacent streets and a fox killed nearby, all in a 200m radius of each other near Stoney Lane.
The animals reportedly found include a black and white tuxedo cat in St Aubyns, a tabby cat in Coxwell Road and a fox in Stoney Lane.
However police were unable to recover the decapitated bodies which were binned soon after they were both discovered.
A spokesman for the Met said the officer who has been dealing with the increase of cat killings around Croydon is investigating the latest discoveries in Crystal Palace, as well as working with the
South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty - SNARL.
Inquiries are also being carried out by officers in Crystal Palace who are now examining local CCTV footage.
The pair behind SNARL, a South Norwood based animal rescue centre, believe that at least eight killings in south London, as well as one in Charlton, have been linked to the cat killer.
They have also highlighted 32 historic cases in Croydon itself and the outskirts of the borough.
In a bid to catch the culprit and bring them to justice they have raised a total of £5,000 (about $7,000,) to fund forensic analysis on the dead animal bodies.
The DNA analysis will soon be passed police, as they continue to investigate the killings.
Meanwhile animal charity PETA have offered a £2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of this so-called “cat ripper of Croydon”.
PETA Associate Director Elisa Allen said: “The pain and fear that any of these cats experienced is unimaginable, so it’s imperative that any community faced with such sadistic and violent acts take measures to find the culprit and bring him or her to justice.”
“Animal abusers are a danger to everyone – they take their issues out on whoever is available to them, human or non-human, and must be caught before they act again.”
