One-Eyed Kitten Discovered In Garbage Looks Like He Is Always …

Yuri and his sister were just two weeks old when they were both discovered dumped in a garbage bin near a sewer, and the tiny kittens were in a terrible state, reported Love Meow.

The family who first found them decided to adopt the sister and take care of her, while their son, Max, and his girlfriend, Roni, stated they would take Yuri home with them.

Max explained: “It was very obvious that he wanted to keep going. His life was full of a lot of turns for the worse but he somehow had the will to live”.

He was sadly suffering from a very bad case of cat flu after fending for himself at such a young age for days in a dirty, cold bin. After various trips to the veterinarian, Max heard that while his kitten was indeed doing much better, he would never be able to see again as his eyes had been too badly damaged.

They returned home with a strict regimen of creams and antibiotics for Yuri’s little eyes and administered them faithfully. They made absolutely certain that the little animal was always warm and fed, and that he had his medicine on time. Roni even took him to work with her so he would never be alone.

Max went on to say: “Thinking back we had a lot of heartbreaking moments when we were sure that he wouldn’t make it. We didn’t know much of taking care of kittens but we did our best”.

Yuri did not seem at all ready to give up, either, and he kept fighting to live. He would purr incessantly each time his humans pet him, and thanks to his determination, one of his eyes started healing. Unfortunately, the second one was already too badly damaged and it needed to be removed.

The sweet kitten has since recovered and today looks like he has a permanent wink on his face! His parents love him just the way he is because Yuri seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that he only has one eye. He is curious, playful and very loving, just like any other kitty who has two eyes.

The story of Yuri’s recovery and sheer determination is inspiring to everyone he meets. He loves his new forever home where he gets to play with his brothers and sisters all day.

Max added: “We had a lot of reasons to believe he wouldn’t make it, he did not look like a living being for most of his life. But he proved us wrong. He knew we were doing our best to save him so he did his best to fight to live”.
