This 33-Pound Gentle Giant Cat Will Make Your Heart Melt!

400

The cat you see in the pictures is called Bronson. Bronson is a gentle giant cat that was adopted by a lovely couple (Mike and Megan) from the Humane Society. The cat was picked up by the organization since his owner passed away. Bronson was brought in at 3 years and 33 pounds as his elderly owner was probably feeding him all day long.

After being adopted, Mike and Megan took Bronson to a vet, who put him on a diet. The pair already changed the cat’s diet three times and has put him on a special exercise routine that will help him lose weight slowly just like a cat should. Bronson is making progress (currently down 1.6 pounds) and with the love Mike and Megan have for him, we have no doubt he’ll succeed.

Meet Bronson, a sweet giant who joined the two cats we already had a couple of months ago

One day, when we only had 45 minutes before work, and we decided to head over to our local Humane Society to have a look around

When we walked in, we were instantly drawn to this gentle giant named Bronson

After we left, neither of us could stop talking about him and how much fun it would be to bring him home and help him lose the extra pounds

We went back to the Humane Society the next day, and a staff member told us that all they knew about cat’s past was that his last owner passed away

Since he was all the way up to 33 pounds and only 3 years old, they suspected it was an elderly person who may have been feeding him table scraps or something

We went in to meet him and instantly fell in love. I remember my cheeks hurting from smiling for so long

He was the sweetest cat we had ever met and he seemed so happy to be home and have a big space of his own

He also isn’t shy about taking up too much bed real estate. We’ve pretty much split the bed into thirds

Our target goal is for Bronson to lose one pound per month and he’s currently down 1.6 pounds, so he’s well on his way to a healthy life

He’s not quite ready to join the other cats in testing the furniture up on the wall, but they know he’ll get there in due time

Let’s hope he will be soon able to climb these stairs with no problem!
