Anyone who owns cats knows that they may indeed look sweet and docile, but when it comes time to throw down, they can be fur-ocious.
That’s the whole point behind the “Warriors” series of novels, which tells of the adventures of four clans of fighting cats. Just last month, the film rights to the series were acquired by China’s Alibaba Pictures, and on Sunday, Harry Potter producer David Heyman announced that he’s totally on board.
Heyman produced all eight Potter movies, plus the newly released Potter universe film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” His involvement was announced at a special event at the British Embassy in Beijing, the Associated Press reported. At this time, there is no release date for the new film.
The film will be live-action, but the warrior cats will be completely computer-generated, and the film will probably be released in 3-D, Heyman explained.
Gizmodo points out that the book series, which has sold a whopping 30 million copies worldwide, has an official trailer that may give a few hints to how the movie could paw-sibly purr-gress. The best line? “You speak from your heart, young Firepaw.” Yes, this is totally fur real!
