In honor of Change a Pet’s Life Day on January 24, 2017, 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ is holding the third annual Change a Pet’s Life Contest to help out adoptable pets in need of medical care! Enter an adoptable pet from your shelter or animal rescue and encourage your community to vote for a chance to win up to $2,000 in grants.
How to Enter
The Change a Pet’s Life Contest is open to U.S. animal rescues and shelters to change the life of an adoptable pet by providing a needed surgery or medical treatment. Not part of a rescue? You can still participate by sharing the contest with your favorite animal rescue group, then voting for their pet to win!

Please note: We ask that all submissions are completed by an associate from the rescue group to ensure correct information. One entry per rescue group. Any entries that do not meet these requirements may be disqualified.
Click the Submit an entry button and upload the adoptable pet’s photo along with a brief story about the pet and the treatments he/she needs.
Submission period: The submission period will run from 1/9/17 through 11:59 p.m. ET on 1/15/17.
Voting period: Starting 1/16/17, participants can vote once a day, and voting will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on 1/22/17. During this time, you’ll want to encourage your supporters and communities to vote for your group’s entry.
The Prizes
- First place: 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ will contribute up to $2,000 towards the first place pet’s surgery and/or medical treatments*. The winning group will also be featured in a video on the 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ website and social media channels.
- Second place: 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ will contribute $1,000 towards the second place pet’s surgery and/or medical treatments.
- Third place: 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ will contribute $500 towards the third place pet’s surgery and/or medical treatments.
*All prizes will be distributed to the winning pets’ veterinarians and animal hospitals to help cover their medical costs.
