This Kitty Was Tied To A Bush With Rope Around Its Neck And Now …

Black cats are still believed to be a bad omen, however, this beautiful onyx kitten recently got a lucky break.

The 8-month-old kitten was found near to the Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, tightly tied to a bush with a rope wrapped around its neck, reported WXYZ.

Ford employees were the very first to discover the abandoned animal, by following the kitten’s small yet mighty meows to the picker bush where it was tied. Based on where the poor kitty was left, the kitten was given the name Mustang.

Mustang is now in the care of Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit, and while he is indeed recovering quickly, he did not come to the non-profit unscathed.

The rope which was used to tie Mustang to the bush was so deeply embedded in the cat’s neck that maggots were literally eating the raw skin around the rope, which had to be surgically removed.

FAMD kindly covered the cost of the surgery and is also offering $2,500 to anyone with information on who cruelly abandoned this kitten.

Mustang is already ready for the next chapter of his life. An employee who works at the clinic where Mustang had his surgery is eager to adopt the kitten after he has fully recuperated from his operation.

However, just because Mustang has a home, doesn’t mean the FAMD’s work is complete. The non-profit’s shelter is currently at full capacity and it is now asking all of those who might be interested in adopting Mustang to look into giving another animal there a forever home too.

If you are unable to adopt a new pet at this time, however, want to contribute to the care of Mustang and FAMD’s other animals, you are able to donate here.
