FLORIDA – Anakin is a two-legged cat located in Pensacola, Florida.
The five-year-old fur-baby doesn’t let his disability hold him back.
A video demonstrating him running and playing with two of his feline siblings as like he doesn’t have any disability.
To stand, walk and run, Anakin needs to position his front legs at an angle toward the middle of his body and holds his back-end in the air, using his own tail for balance when necessary.
In order to climb, he uses his strong front legs and claws to pull himself up.
When dismounting from his kitty tower, Anakin actually hops from ledge-to-ledge until he reaches the floor.
Artist Carrie Hawks discovered the kitten eating with other feral cats back in 2012.
She rescued him and then decided to bring him to the vet who said that he had never seen anything like him. X-rays showed that he was indeed born without a pelvis or back legs.
Hawks decided to adopt the cat and named him Anakin after the Star Wars character Anakin Skywalker.
Hawks states in the video subtitles that Anakin does not use wheels because he simply wouldn’t be able to climb.
When he gets older, she will indeed be getting him wheels if he needs them.
Be sure to follow Anakin on his blog.
