Any parent is ready to do everything he or she can to protect their children. This cat is a major example that love transcends all and is the most powerful thing in the universe.
Skippy the cat is a stray cat who was found wandering a neighborhood and meowing in panic after she got her head stuck in a peanut butter jar.
Luckily for Skippy, Carra Mathewson from the County Animal Services responded to a call from a woman who saw the cat struggling. Mathewson arrived at the scene and helped the cat, but Skippy was still in bad shape and obviously in need of help.
The cat was covered in maggots and Mathewson wasn’t sure she would survive. The vet discovered that Skippy was actually pregnant. In fact, he said that the cat knew she was dying, so she got to the neighborhood to ask for help – if Mathewson didn’t remove the peanut butter jar, she would have died and the babies with her. The cat actually knew she doesn’t have much time left, and she used every last atom of energy to help her babies!
The four babies were born healthy, but Skippy passed away. The babies are in great condition and their mom will always be remembered for the heroic act.
