This one-eyed cat had been at the shelter for the better part of 4 months and nobody seemed to want him. He had been returned twice already. Apparently the routine of washing out his eye every day was a burden for those who initially had taken him home.
The shelter almost completely lost hope of the poor cat ever finding a home So they “put him out one last time before making him the official mascot of the shelter.”
Enter one special man who came in just to get some litter for his other cats, when he stumbled upon the cat.
The man immediately seemed to bond with the rejected cat.
“I didn’t even see his missing eye at first. Just an affectionate boy sticking his paw out of the cage,” he stated.
He began to ask the staff all kinds of questions about the cat but the staff simply looked at him in disbelief. They had seen this one-eyed wonder tossed aside so many times, they had begun to believe no one would ever fall for him.
“I told them I only had adopted rescues at home and didn’t care about the missing eye or having to clean it,” he said.
Over the course of the next week, he visited the cat a total of four times and finally one fateful day … this wonderful man decided to make it all official and adopt the cat.
“Now he’s my little pirate kitty,” his adopter said.
The one-eyed cat is a tough little guy who spent most of his kittenhood days in a shelter but now he likes to play with his new humans every day and can’t get enough belly rubs.
Third time’s the charm!
