SKOKIE, ILLINOIS – The “missing” owner of a sweet ginger cat who had been hanging out in a Skokie couple’s garage… has been found.
An orange tabby cat kept arriving each and every day at a garage in the 9400 block of N. Karlov Ave.which is owned by Eric and Ellen Badofsky.
Of course the couple began to wonder if the kitty had a home or if he was lost or perhaps even feral!
And so, the couple took to a local social news site to find out!
Turned out, the cat actually belongs to a woman who lives just one block away.
The owner herself admitted she was literllay holding the cat in her lap when an alert from Patch asked its Skokie readers about who the cat may belong to.
“The owner contacted me. She lives one block over and apparently lets the cat out to “play.” His name is Winston,” Eric told Skokie Patch on Wednesday. “I suggested other that she get him a collar with an ID and vaccination tag.”
“It’s my cat,” the owner responded in the comment section of the Skokie Patch. “This kitty has a very healthy and happy home. He was literally sitting on my lap when this blast came through my feed from Patch.”
The owner herself admitted she was literally holding the cat in her lap when an alert from Patch asked its Skokie readers about who the cat may belong to.
“I imagine his pursuit of ridding the neighborhood of mice moved him outside the confines of our yard so that he could use his mad rodent-hunting skills for the benefits of the wider community.”
