This kind Grandpa has a deep, dark, adorable secret.
This is the story of Jimmy!
Jimmy is 85 years old and lives in Puerto Rico with his wife in a neighborhood that’s very well known to have a few strays. While Jimmy has a soft spot for cats, his wife … not really!
She told him she clearly that didn’t want any strays anywhere near the house. So, that’s when good old Jimmy decided to go behind her back…
“My grandpa felt for the stray cats and would leave food in the back of the house near his tool shed, a spot where my grandma doesn’t go,” his granddaughter, Syl, explained to The Dodo. “This particular cat was especially friendly and got attached to my grandpa.”
When Jimmy discovered that his best bud kitty was pregnant, he knew he couldn’t turn her away.
He decided to let the mama cat have access to his shed, where she would give birth in a warm and safe environment. Jimmy was ecstatic while his wife was blissfully unaware.
“My grandpa is really kind and has always loved animals,” she stated. “So it’s not really that surprising.”
Mama cat certainly and clearly appreciated Jimmy’s generosity.
However, after three weeks sneaking food, water, and love to mama and her kittens, the jig was finally up.
Grandma finally found out, but she wasn’t too upset. One look at those tiny furry kitten faces and she had a complete change of heart.
“She’s okay with them staying there until they’re old enough to have new homes,” Syl stated.
And som Jimmy was off the hook, and so was mama cat and her babies!
She might not agree with her husband all the time, however, one of the main reasons she married him in the first place was because of his kind heart.
