Andre the Giant Cat was found roaming around the downtown oarea f Firplay, Colorado last November.
“Within a month of us having him, people coming in to see him and to visit, the adoption rate for the rescue skyrocketed,” said Miyuki Takeda, owner of High Paw Pet Supplies.
Part of the store is dedicated to adopting animals out. After Andre was adopted by the store, they received more than a dozen applications for general adoptions.
At the time, Andre weighed only about 20 lbs. According to the vet, he was underweight and needed to stay at the shelter to get up to a healthy weight.
Wait … what? LOL.
The store owner absolutely fell in love with Andre and decided that they would make Andre their store cat.
“When he first came to us, he showed a lot of signs – he acts like a hybrid,” Takeda said.
“We think perhaps he has Savannah in him – those are huge cats,” Takeda added.
One of his first visits to the vet! They thought he was the biggest cat they had seen.
“I have my forever home so now I help other kitties who are less fortunate than I am find homes, too!”
