The devastated actress has just recently offered a “big reward” for the safe return of her pet pussy called Mr Mew.

Liz Hurley has tweeted this offer of a big reward after her cat went missing

Elizabeth Hurley is suffering every cat lover’s single worst nightmare - her pet cat has vanished while she was away on a work trip.

The devastated actress has offered a “big reward” for the safe return of her pet cat whose name is Mr Mew.

The Bengal cat disappeared from Hurley’s £6million country mansion while she was away on a t10-day visit to India.

She tweeted: “Back from India to hear my beautiful Bengal cat Mr Mew is missing from near Donnington in Herefordshire. heartbroken.

“Please look out for him if you live locally. Big reward for his safe return.”

Hurley, aged 50, added on Twitter: “Magnificent sky at home in Herefordshire this morning. I hope the still missing Mr Mew saw it from somewhere.”

The Austin Powers star added a glum-faced sobbing emoji to that message.

The actress bought her listed Georgian home near Ledbury with cricket legend boyfriend Shane Warne just one year before they split in 2013.

The cat’s vanishing came just days after Hurley told her 500,000 Twitter fans just how much she was enjoying her trip to India.

Searching for Mr Mew will not be easy since the cat has plenty of places to hide on Hurley’s country estate which boasts 13 bedrooms, five bathrooms, a stable and 187 acres of gardens, parkland and fields.

But cat behaviorist Anita Kelsey believes the cat will more than likely turn up.

Anita, from Notting Hill, London, told the Mirror: “Bengal cats are only four generations away from being wild cats. Most people keep them indoors but they are great outdoor cats - and great survivors.

“I don’t think she needs to start panicking yet.”

“It could be he has just gone off to establish his territory and show other cats he is around.”

“Males can wander for several miles and survive quite easily on mice and voles.”

“Cats don’t usually get upset when their owner is away.”

“There will probably be another reason. Cats can sometimes go missing for several weeks and just turn up again.”

“A fox could attack a cat which has disturbed its lair or some fox cubs.”

“But I don’t want to frighten the living daylights out of her because cats and foxes co-exist quite sensibly in cities.”

“The other hopeful possibility is that someone has taken this cat into their home and is looking after it.”

Hurley is currently starring as Queen Helena in the TV series The Royals about a make-believe British royal family.
