This kitten might have an unsteady strut, but she’s bound to capture your heart. Last week, love poured towards the Watauga Humane Society after the pet shelter introduced little Olive, a black and white cat with a neurological condition called “Wobbly Cat Disorder.”
“Say hello to Olive! She is a sweet girl that we believe has Wobbly Kitten Syndrome, a neurological disorder that affects her ability to move properly, but we will confirm this after her vet appointment this week,” the shelter explained. “Olive does not let her condition stand in her way! She is very much a normal and playful kitten.”
Watauga Humane Society also claims that Olive, like normal pets, likes to play with her toys, cuddle with her human, and is extremely affectionate. She might have a rare condition, but she has a big heart overflowing with so much love.
She even found a best friend in Marley, one of the senior cats in the shelter, who was adopted just two weeks ago. The two even managed to find time to snuggle one last time before they said their happy goodbyes.
With her unique movements and sweet demeanor, the shelter decided to share a video of Olive, announcing that she was up for adoption not long ago and the video they posted went viral.
UPDATE, JANUARY 27, 2025
Watson said the applications came pouring in from as far away as Australia, but ultimately, she and the rest of the staff chose a local, North Carolina animal lover/resident to take Olive home.
“She and her husband have other animals that she’s nursed back to heath that are special needs,” Watson said of Olive’s adoptive family.
Watson said that with all the attention Olive has been receiving, her new owners have decided that they will create an Instagram account to share her new adventures.
