A rescue cat seems to be struggling to find a home because he looks a bit like, well, Dracula!
He’s not an old cat but his distinctive look seems to be giving possible adopters .. a bit of pause.
Rory has a pair of extra-long fangs hanging out of his mouth which give him an unfortunate resemblance to Count Dracula.
This four-year-old cat was literally dumped at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home earlier this month – by owners who had “purchased” him online just two weeks before.
Vets discovered that Rory needed some major surgery on his jaw – because his teeth were stopping him from being able to close his mouth properly.
But despite removing several of his back teeth, vets had to leave Rory’s vampire fangs right where they were or he wouldn’t be able to eat properly– leaving him looking like a creature of the night.
Lindsey Quinlan, Battersea’s Head of Cattery, says:
‘Lovely Rory has had an unsettled start to life but now with his new teeth and positive attitude he will make the perfect pet for the right owners.”
‘Rory’s story is a classic example of why people should really think carefully and consider all the responsibilities of owning a cat before bringing one home.’
Rory, who by the way, loves tuna, can be rehomed with first-time owners and will need outdoor access.
