The very last thing you would want to find in the trash if you are an animal lover is an animal (alive or dead).
Animals are certainly not trash and deserve to be treated with respect and love. William Grabill, who is a waste management worker, heard tiny cries coming from a dumpster. Grabill peaked inside the dumpster and found six newborn kittens buried under some wood chips.
Grabill explained that he found the tiny family huddled in one corner of the dumpster. With some help of a coworker, they scooped up the kittens. Each one of the kittens still had their umbilical cord attached which meant they were about 1 or 2 days old.
No one is certain where the mother was. It is possible she had her babies in the dumpster and had gone away to find food.
Or, perhaps, the litter of kittens could have just been left there to die. The kittens were being cared and monitored for at the Sacramento SPCA. Each kitten was placed in a loving foster home.
Sadly, one of the kittens didn’t make it, but the other five got stronger each day with the help (and around the clock care) from their foster family.
William Grabill decided to stop by the shelter to see how the tiny kittens he rescued were doing. One dashing little male kitten was named William in honor of the hero who rescued them.
The kittens who survived were put up for adoption!
