A litter of newly born kittens with their umbilical cords attached were found in a dumpster. They were rescued by staff at an office on the property.
The kittens were left inside an industrial-sized dumpster behind the offices of Lakeshore Learning Materials in Carson, California.
A co-worker heard tiny squeaks while walking to her car at night and she looked around and found five baby kittens with their umbilical cords still attached.
She gathered the kittens and put them into a cardboard box with a towel to keep them warm.
One of the kittens did not survive and the mother cat never showed up.
In the morning, yet another baby kitten was found on-site.
One worker at the company knew how to bottle feed kittens. She took the kittens into her cubicle and bottle fed and wiped their behinds every 2 to 3 hours during her work day.
The kittens were barely 2 days old at the most and at that age they need assistance eating and going to the bathroom.
By the end of the day, everyone in the office had heard about the kittens and everyone wanted to help. They pitched in money, took care of the kittens outside of work, and eventually found foster homes for all of the kittens.
Cats at the Studios rescue took the kittens in and gave these kittens their full love and attention.
Since then every day, the kittens have grown stronger. They have taken to the bottle very well and their personalities are shining through.
It means a lot to save such fragile lives. These kittens have truly been given the second chance they deserve.
