NORTH CAROLINA – Cyclists from around the area known as the ‘Triangle’ competed in a scavenger hunt to help a local no-kill shelter.
In upwards of 100 riders hunted for clues around downtown Raleigh Sunday for the sixth annual Hepcat race.
All of the proceeds raised are going toward SAFE Haven for Cats.
To date, this particular no-kill shelter has helped with 8,000 adoptions.
“It was perfect, I couldn’t think of anything better,” Ashley Smith, of Raleigh, said to CBS North Carolina. “I was really excited to come out (Sunday), not only to ride, and do their little scavenger hunt race, but also to support SAFE Haven, because they’re such a great organization.”
SAFE Haven for Cats was able to raise a couple of thousand dollars through the registration fees, raffles and also t-shirt sales.
