The Celia Hammond Animal Trust was phoned in to assist with the rescue and found the kitten’s mother outside the shop ‘distressed’.

It is believed that the cat went into the shop looking for a safe and dry place.

“We got a call from the owner who could hear meowing somewhere in the shop,” went on to explain the head of the charity Celia Hammond.

“His neighbors had moved away and left their cat behind.

“The owner was very helpful and took apart the machine for us.

“We saw a cat who was clearly their mother outside the shop in distress.”
