Before you can try the tips on how to relieve some of your cat from stress, it is important to know what are the different kinds and causes of stress.

Here are the three common stress categories in cats according to Pet Education: environmental stress, physical stress, and emotional stress.

Environmental stress
The causes of environmental stress include moving to a new place/house, too many pets/animals in the household and also lack of fresh air where the cat is staying.

Physical stress: Physical conditions can cause stress to cats like illness, obesity, physical trauma and even parasitic infestations.

Emotional stress: Cats also have emotions which can highly contribute to stress. Cats can feel rivalry with other pets, boredom and even feelings of grief.

Here are tips on how to reduce your cat’s stress level:

For physical stress:

Try to trim their over grown claws which can grow deep in their pads which can cause pain.

Treat the parasite infestation in their body like fleas because flea bites cause a lot of discomfort to the cat.

Take your cat to see a vet if the cat is already showing serious signs like bleeding and immobility.

For emotional stress:

Keep stray cats away from your house or place or residence because your pet cat may be threatened.

Spend some quality time with your cat. Play with them. This creates a good bond between the owner and his/her kitty.

For environmental stress:

Avoid loud music in your house because cats have very sensitive hearing and they get stressed hearing to loud noises. There should always be enough space for your cat to stay. Cats also get very stressed out in too crowded places.
