Long lost in History, whose Twitter is the definition of “amazing internet rabbit hole” (and you can find ’em on Instagram, too) recently posted this sensational series of images from a promotional photo shoot for 1986’s Aliens. The subjects are, of course, a pair of kick-ass survivors named Ripley and Jonesy.
Sigourney Weaver looks totally in character in every photo—even in the ones where she’s smiling bigger than Ripley ever, ever does in any Alien movie whatsoever. It’s clearly her kitty costar Jones, aka “you little shithead,” who’s bringing the drama to every shot.
He starts off quite strong. Just look at that piercing glare! That is a commanding look that certainly says “Step back, ya drooling monster!” and also “I heard you open that can.”
Then, his attention begins to wander. “What’s that on the floor … yeah, THAT! Over there”?!
Here, he’s in a complete state of ‘Over It’. We’re going to guess the photo shoot probably ended shortly after this one, by feline decree.
Best science fiction spaceship kitty ever. We sure hope he was well-paid in cheeseburgers! He earned them!
