When you go out and adopt a kitten, if they are taken from their mother too soon or lost their mom, you can often see those signs right away or later in life.
Kittens will use their own paws to knead warm blankets often, sometimes even sucking on the blanket. However, they might not stop there!
If given the chance to, a small kitten may even try to nurse from an animal that is not their mom. For Hannah, a kitten who was adopted by the folks at My Bark Avenue, she decided to get her milk – from a dog.
Chloe, however, was not a recent mom, she wasn’t even in heat. Her body, however, just seemed to know that she needed to care for this kitten and she began lactating.
After a whole week of this going on, their caretaker then decided to film the rarity and it’s clear how much Chloe cares for her baby kitten. Hannah nursed for a total of six months after meeting Chloe.
The organization was informed just how rare it was for a dog to adopt a kitten and bond so closely, without having lost her own litter of puppies. However, Hannah and Chloe are bonded for life and as you can see in the video, they clearly love each other very much!
Animals – aren’t they just the most amazing beings?
