This cat was discovered walking around on the streets of Istanbul back in 2008. She was completely and totally covered in maggots that were eating her slowly.
One special little girl managed to talk her parents into the kitty medically and giving her a home! The kitty was named Gulumser, meaning “she who always smiles”, because the maggots had eaten just about all of her face and upper lip.
Gulumser was successfully treated by a vet for her condition. The news of her rescue went viral in news outlets and websites all over the world. You see, miracles can and do happen!
