We’ve got just the purr-fect job for true cat people!
The Just Cats Veterinary Clinic, which is located in Dublin, Ireland has been advertising for a full time job as a ‘Cat Cuddler’, the listing for which reads as follows:
“The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time.
‘They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients.
‘An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us”.
If it sounds too good to be true, you would certainly be wrong. The clinic, which is a “cats-only” veterinary hospital, is thoroughly committed to making sure that cats, who often respond badly to unfamiliar and stressful situations, are as calm and happy as possible when they visit the vets, or just stay in the attached cattery.
That’s precisely where the Cat Cuddler comes in. The theory is that whichever lucky candidate officially lands the job will be there to comfort the feline patients by giving them lots of individual attention and loving pats.
Presumably, they’ll certainly be paid in purrs and the love of lots of contented cats, along with their salary! What more could any true cat-lover wish for?
