A recent case of animal abuse occurred in January when Carlos Trinidad and his girlfriend got into a bit of a domestic disturbance and the poor kitty got caught in the crossfire. The kitty had been assaulted several times and in the end, was tied to a doorknob with a shoestring.
How disgusting of a person do you have to be to do something that to a defenseless animal?
Luckily, police were called and officers ended up successfully rescuing the kitty and threw Trinidad in jail on $250,000 bond.
He was charged with cruelty to animals, and an array of other charges.
As for the kitty, she now has a new name and a loving forever home.
Her new name is Piper.
