SOUTH CAROLINA – Tiger and the Byrds were in the process of evacuating ahead of Hurricane Matthew’s potential landfall on the South Carolina coast.
At one point, however, Jenna Byrd and her sister were at the intersection of Interstate 26 and 21 in Sandy Run in Calhoun County when the unthinkable happened.
“A car was coming from the other way and just completely took the front end of the car off,” explained Byrd.
The car’s airbags ended up deploying and Tiger managed to wriggle out of the window and across the busy road before anyone could catch him.
A frantic search for Tiger then ensued but came up empty.
That is, until recently.
We’re overjoyed to report that Tiger was located at a home in the area by a woman who happened to be feeding some stray cats. The woman recognized the cat from posters in the area and immediately got in touch with the Byrds.
Tiger was reunited with Jenna and immediately taken over to see a vet where not only was he given a clean bill of health, but actually gained a pound!
We wish Tiger and his family the best!
