How Cats Show Affection – 10 Pictures!

Cats are irresistibly sweet, as we all know, but sometimes their behavior irritates us completely. However, it turns out that their sometimes annoying behavior is actually one way of showing us their genuine affection.

Without any further ado, here are the ten ways in which your cat says: “I love you!”.

1.) Biting

You are resting comfortably on the couch with your cat. You begin to pet it and it suddenly attacks your hand. Not to worry. Snacking or “biting out of love” just so happens to be a strange way of your cat showing affection.

2.) Licking

Cats may sometimes mutually “wash themselves”. However, they only do this with those cats that they adore. When they lick “a favorite human being”, a cat is leaving a scent and marks you as a part of the family. This is a sign that you are viewed as a friend and that being close to you makes it feel safe.

3.) Meowing

Meowing can sometimes be just too sweet, but sometimes cat vocalization can develop into quite an irritating one. The fact is that they do not want us to get upset but only to talk to us. Cats rarely communicate with each other by meowing, but only with people.

4.) Paw massage

When a cat is stomping on certain parts of your body as if it is “kneading” you, it’s thereby expressing its deepest sympathy and love. This particular behavior is actually instinctive from the earliest period when kittens paws stimulate the secretion of milk of their mother. Adult cats sometimes continue with such behavior when they feel most relaxed, happy and loved.

5.) Staring at you

Do you sometimes get overtaken by the feeling that someone is watching you? You turn around, only to see your cat staring at you with eyes wide open. It blinks once slowly and keeps watching you. Although it may seem creepy, in fact, you have a very rare privilege. Cats make eye contact only with the human beings that they trust. And when the cat blinks, that is like your cat is sending you a kiss. And of course, you should always blink her back in return!

Although it’s not too pleasant to look at your cat’s behind when you are doing something, Showing you her butt is yet another way by which cats show affection and trust.

8.) Lying on your computer or laptop

Just when you are in the middle of writing an important email, your cat suddenly jumps up and lands on the table and decides to walk all over the keyboard. Also, the cat often decides that the computer is just the perfect place for an afternoon nap. Cats seem to just love to be the center of attention, so this is just another way of telling you: “Hey, look at me! I’m important, too!”

9.) Spying on you under the bathroom door

The bathroom may be the only place you actually have some privacy. Unless, however, you are the proud owner of a cat, then you have surely noticed paws under the door searching for you. Again, nothing to worry about, as this behavior is completely natural expression of love.
