Not every cat in the world is fluffy and cuddly. The sad fact of it is that cats that don’t fit this “cute” idea of how they’re supposed to look are often labeled ugly, with few who are willing to see the beauty in them and get to know them at all.
Possum was born the runt of a feral litter of strays which were born in a backyard in North Carolina, being entirely bald with her fur growing in odd patterns – gray in some, white in others.
Even stranger, her skin smelled like potatoes. The woman who lived in the home where she was born was luckily able to get all her siblings adopted, but no one wanted Possum.
At her wit’s end, the woman decided that she’d have to bring the poor cat to the pound where she would inevitably be put down. However, one of her colleagues fell head over heels in love with the precious cat and decided to bring her home!
It was there that Possum met her two new fellow cat siblings. The best part? Her family doesn’t see her as being different at all!
Possum indeed turned out to be loving and gentle, and she hunts spiders and keeps the house free of them.
She cares deeply about her brand new family and kept her Mom company while she was stuck in bed with an injured leg.
It’s sad to think that she was completely overlooked just because she appears different on the outside!
This wonderful cat now has a wonderful forever home and a loving family, and she couldn’t wish for more.
