MICHIGAN – On a cross-country moving trip, Graham Skelly and his son Simon stopped off at a Michigan rest stop on Aug. 21. That is where they thought they had lost their beloved family cat forever.
The 14-year-old Tabby cat, whose name is Milkie, was leashed but scared by a dog and ran into the nearby woods, NBC Washington reported.
After a grueling two-hour search, the father and son decided to continue their journey to Arlington, Va., a journey which began in Seattle.
After being on the lookout for quite some time, the employees at the New Buffalo rest stop safely trapped Milkie just five days later.
Skelly got the call this passed Friday and drove 12 hours back to Michigan to pick up the beloved pet.
