PENNSYLVANIA – In western Pennsylvania, veterinarians are feverishly working furiously to save the life of a cat shot with an arrow, while police are trying to track down the person who so badly and bizarrely injured the feline.
KDKA-TV has reported that officials in Washington County, Pa., believe someone shot the animal intentionally:
“My understanding, the tip on the arrow is used for practice, not hunting,” Dr. Dimitri Brown, who is of University Veterinary Specialists, stated to KDKA. “In order to get this amount of penetration, it would have to be done at pretty close range, so it makes it seem that this was an intentional act.”

The injured cat was wide awake and actually purring, despite the arrow piercing her abdomen. The animal was efficiently sedated and prepared for surgery, KDKA reports, adding:
During the surgery, a small portion of the cat’s large bowel had to be removed. She will be under 24-hour watch now for the next five days. When well enough, she will be up for adoption.
Meanwhile, the police of California, Pa., are still investigating the incident.
A man coming out of his house to get the paper noticed the injured cat in his yard and is the one who called Animal Control just after 8 a.m. Tuesday, KDKA wrote.
