Henry Stewart tweeted a picture of the scene of the accident, tweeting: ‘.@grimmers unhurt after this, in next street to us. Going at 10mph he swerved to avoid a cat.’

He explained to Metro.co.uk on Twitter that he was Nick’s neighbor and knew it was the former X Factor judge because he spoke to him.

Grimmy purchased his brand new $106,000 Mercedes vehicle back in September 2015.

The accident took place in Stoke Newington, which is in London, and a neighbor who was also at the scene told Metro.co.uk that Nick had called the police when he arrived at the scene.

‘He was fine and the cat was fine, he was a lovely man, he said he would felt terrible if the cat had been hurt,’ stated the neighbor.

‘Both airbags had gone off so that’s why he wasn’t hurt, and he was still there an hour later.’

His absence on Radio 1 was later on explained by Annie who told listeners that he had had ‘unfortunately had a bit of an accident with his car’

She went on to add: ‘He is fine, there is absolutely nothing to worry about but he can’t make it into the studio this evening.’

Nick’s reps reported that: ‘Nick is absolutely fine – he was driving at no more than 15mph and he swerved to avoid a cat.

‘No one was hurt and Nick will be doing his breakfast show as normal tomorrow morning.’

Way to go, Nick. You’re a hero!
