AUSTRALIA – Three kittens have thankfully survived a brutal attack by a group of kids allegedly kicking them around like footballs at a park in Sydney’s west.

Mount Druitt vet nurse Belinda May explained to the Daily Telegraph her father intervened after he saw a gang of youngsters “kicking something around” over at Bildwill Park.

He soon realized that the “ball of fluff” was a severely underweight, malnourished seven-week-old kitten.

May went on to explain that the cat her father rescued was the smallest of three kittens, who he also found nearby.

“He picked the kitten up. It was so small. He found the other two in another yard and one of the other kittens was lying there lifeless,” she stated.

He then rushed the cats over to his daughter at her workplace Mt Druitt Veterinary Clinic.

“They were unusually malnourished and very, very skinny,” vet Dr. Gladys Tam stated.

“They were very fluey and had severe conjunctivitis and dripping noses. They ate like they had never eaten before.”

Dr. Tam stated that she had no idea why the kids were so violent.

“They’re really nice-natured cats.”

May mentioned that the cats were lucky to survive. “A couple of nights ago we heard that two cats had been killed on our street,” she stated.

May, who is currently looking after the kittens, said the small litter were looking healthy and had put on weight.
