Tommy the Cat, Who Had Acid Poured on Him, is Recovering and Has Huge Fan Following!

CALIFORNIA – A cat, whose name is Sir Thomas Trueheart, has truly become a fan favorite on the Facebook page of an animal rescue group in Burbank.

Thomas, who also goes by simply ‘Tommy the cat’, has been featured on the page because of his amazing recovery. Back in June, someone poured acid on Tommy’s head, which left the poor cat with serious injuries. A woman found him crying on her porch and immediately took him to a veterinarian.

The veterinarian was indeed able to treat Tommy, and the woman turned to social media to find more help for the injured cat. That’s when people suggested he go to Milo’s Sanctuary, Inc., which is an organization that gives cats a second chance at life when they have physical disabilities, special needs, are terminally ill or were abused.

The sanctuary graciously took Tommy in and got him treatment at an animal hospital. While Tommy did end up losing an eye, he has recovered from his injuries and never once lost his ability to play or be affectionate, according to the sanctuary.

On Saturday, Tommy was featured in a special show and convention which was called “Walk a Mile in Our Paws.” The event, which was held in Arcadia, featured other cats with disabilities and special needs. All of the proceeds from the event benefited Milo’s Sanctuary.
