11 Things You’ll Only Relate to If You Have an Incredibly Caring Cat!

Here are the 11 things you’ll only know if you have an incredibly caring cat.

1. You can’t the thought of leaving them on their own

Just a weekend away? Unless left with someone your cat entirely trusts, there’s absolutely no way you’d be able to enjoy a couple of days away without worrying intensely whether your furry friend’s okay without you (which they definitely aren’t).

2. You usually compare your cat to a dog

They come to you when called, they even wait for you at the door, they sit patiently for treats and they can’t get enough of a cuddle. It’s like looking after a much quieter, but much lazier dog. And it’s beautiful.

3. Which people tend not to believe

People just can’t seem to grasp the concept of there being seriously loving cats. Cats are supposed to despise you unless you’ve got a cardboard box, a piece of string or some tuna, aren’t they?

4. They’re very timid and take time to adjust to others

If you have someone unfamiliar to your home, your cat may sprint upstairs and hides under the duvet until they’re gone.

5. The cat simply doesn’t own you

Sure, the cat certainly does own your heart – but you often see people describing the cat as owning them. However, you just can’t grasp that. Your cat knows simply who’s boss and still loves you anyway.

6. You trust them not to run away

Letting them out is no problem because you know they won’t stray further than 10 minutes from home without missing you and running back to check you’re still there waiting for them. It’s sweet, really.

7. They are always purring

You could be stroking your cat for just a second and they’ve already begun heavily purring. Which is great until you have to turn up the volume on the TV in an attempt to drown it out.

8. Your bed is also their bed

They absolutely love cardboard boxes that once held the lovely cosy bed you bought them that they chose to ignore – but bedtime means your bed. And they sleep there peacefully until morning. It’s fine if they’re sleeping at the foot of your bed – but when they find a comfy spot on your pillow? Maybe it’s not so nice.

9. They’re always at your feet

When they’re not on your lap being petted, they’re pestering around your feet – which actually means they’re rubbing their scent on you to claim you as their own. Isn’t that sweet?

10. They follow you around everywhere

Your cat is like your tiny shadow – wherever you go, they follow. Don’t you wish they’d at least give you some bathroom privacy? It seems that’s when they want to be with you most.

11. Your cat is your very best friend

They give you endless cuddles when you want them, they comfort you when you’re sad, they’re happy to binge Netflix with you – and they’ll never try and force their opinion on you when you don’t want it.

So, what’s not to love about your devoted, caring kitty?
