TAMPA, FLORIDA – The tiny kitten that was tossed from a car back in March is doing much better at the SPCA Suncoast.

When “April” was first rescued, she was anemic, full of fleas, dehydrated, had pneumonia, a respiratory infection, and a corneal ulcer in her left eye. One of her eyes has since cleared up beautifully, but the other is still causing rescuers some serious concerns.

Shelter officials said many people have donated money to help treat April. She’s not available for adoption or fostering at this time, but you can keep up with her progress on the SPCA Suncoast Facebook page!

They named her April because April is “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals” month. She was just three-weeks-old when she was found by a Good Samaritan who rescued her having seeing her being tossed from a car.
