Black Cat Assists in Capture of Pennsylvania Fugitive!

PENNSYLVANIA – A crime-fighting kitty in Pennsylvania recently helped local police in tracking down a man with an outstanding bench warrant.

Ephrata Police Department shared a photo of a black cat who officers explained that greatly helped lead them to capture 23-year-old fugitive Jonathan Michael Steffy.

Police stated that they encountered the helpful feline after setting up a perimeter around a backyard while searching for Steffy.

“One officer noticed a black cat in a backyard. It was crouched and watching something intently in the vicinity of a shed,” police noted. “The officer checked the shed, but found nothing. He again saw the cat and noted that it was looking past him toward another shed.”

The officer followed the cat’s stare and discovered Steffy hiding in the second shed, where he was apprehended by police.

Steffy was immediately taken into police custody and the officers thanked the cat for assisting in his capture.

“The Ephrata PD is thankful for any crime-fighting assistance we get, whether human or feline!” Police concluded.
