Brave Cat Saves Entire Family from Fire By Biting Mom on the Arm!

CANADA – A brave and intelligent family cat saved its owners from an early morning blaze this past Thursday after their mobile home caught fire.

At approximately 3:30 am, firefighters were summoned to Clairmont where a mobile home’s underside was on fire.

The parents and two children were sound asleep at the time when the family cat entered the parents’ bedroom and bit the mother to alert her to the fire.

Everyone in the home made it out of the house and called the fire department.

“I’ve seen it happen before, not here in Clairmont, but I’ve read lots of instances where dogs and cats have alerted families to fires in their homes before. Obviously, we are preferential to making sure that all smoke detectors are working as the steadfast method for notifications of fire. It’s pretty interesting to see that it was the cat that did alert them that there was an issue,” stated County of GP fire chief Trevor Grant.

Firefighters were able to successfully contain the fire to the underside and extinguished it quickly.

The family was put in touch with the Red Cross and are currently being housed elsewhere.

The cause of the fire yet under investigation. Thankfully, though, no one at all was injured in the blaze!
