MISSOURI – The Missouri Valley Fire Department (MVFD) was called to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover accident just on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1:05 p.m. The patients were quickly extricated from the vehicle with some assistance from Mondamin Fire and Rescue Department.
During the mop-up stages of the call, some law enforcement officials discovered a small kitten inside of a purse amongst the wreckage. Missouri Valley probationary firefighter Josh Murray, who is an avid cat lover, quickly took the tiny patient into his care.
Members of MVFD have since lovingly nicknamed the kitten “Crash.” The little guy appeared to be quite frightened and shaken but was uninjured. Murray looked after the kitten just until a representative from the Harrison County Humane Society was able to pick Crash up from the fire hall not long after the call.
Crash was fully checked out by a vet and then looked after by the Harrison County Humane Society until he could be reunited with his owner.
