The THIS CAT IS C H O N K Y Facebook group is truly is an awesome spot!
This particular kitty group is dedicated completely to large cats and it is chock filled with all the chubby boys and hefty girls you could ever hope to see. The things is, it turned out that the group is doing much more than merely bringing fans the joy of cat photos – it’s actually bringing people together.
Anna Hosey, who is 25, and Adam Lawrence, who is 28, are a couple who managed to connect over their shared love of chunky kitties and then one of them traveled a total of 4,000 miles to meet after
Adam went ahead and posted a photo of himself and a friend’s cat in the group and Anna called him ‘cute’.
All of this started back in October 2019. Adam, who is a graphic design graduate now living in London, UK, decided to post two photos of himself with his very fluffy cat.
Anna, who is a hair stylist currently living in Chicago, Illinois, made comments on the photos, stating: ‘Both are cute’. And that was just the start of something very magical.
Anna told Metro.co.uk: ‘I had just recently joined the group and immediately noticed Adam, so I made a comment in regards to how cute him and the cat both were.
‘Adam sent me a private message after I had made the comment and we immediately hit it off based off our massive similarities in music taste and learned we had much more in common after that.’
Over the next months that followed, Adam and Anna found themselves chatting about everything, bonding over video and phone chats on an almost daily basis. Both of them felt some kind of a spark, and in December Adam decided he would travel 4,000 miles to meet Anna and her chonky cat, whose name is Kidden.
‘We were wildly curious on what would happen if we saw one another in person,’ Anna stated.
‘We both felt things had become romantic via phone and wanted to know if it would be the same.
‘Meeting in real life was surreal. But also very natural, like we weren’t strangers at all and there was no awkwardness involved. It was all so… simple.’
Thankfully, in the end, Kidden approved of Adam also.
‘They took a shine to each other from the get off,’ stated Anna.
‘They took a shine to each other from the get off,’ says Anna. ‘Kidden normally doesn’t immediately interact with others, but this time it was not the case. Those two together has been a lovely sight to see!’
Anna and Adam are apparently now ‘somewhere between dating and a relationship’ and are still trying to figure everything out as their connection is still quite ‘fresh and new’. Anna, however, does have a plan to visit London to see Adam again in February, just a few short months away.
