The 18-year-old’s photo went absolutely viral when his sister, Caroline, shared it on Imgur with the caption “my brother took his cat to prom”. Yes, Ruby the cat is wearing exactly what you think she is wearing – a dress. And yes, she looks completely overjoyed to be on Sam’s arm.

According to Caroline, Ruby was the “purr-fect prom” date because he couldn’t find a human being to accompany him. There just isn’t room for a lady in your life when you have a special bond like Sam has with his beloved cat!
