SOUTH WALES – A Llanelli vets practice has issued an appeal for help after three cats were found shaven and abandoned in a box in Pontarddulais.

The three terrified animals are thankfully now in the care of Haven Vets on James Street after they were found near the tennis courts in Coed Back park just last week.

Staff member Debra Williams said the cats were absolutely “petrified” when they were brought in.

She said: “It is not often you see cats shaved like this, we were even more concerned as their whiskers have also been shaved off, which is terrible.”

“The clippers have caught them in certain areas and you can see they have shaved parts of their heads too.

“It’s very upsetting to see. It’s absolutely disgusting for someone to do this.”

“They were petrified when they were brought in so we will have to wait for them to relax more before examining them.”

“We would love for them to find new homes.”

We here at The Best Cat Page wish these three kitties the best for a new future!

UPDATE, JANUARY 27, 2016 – The three cats that were found shaved, had their whiskers cut off and subsequently abandoned in a park in Pontarddulais have been successfully rehomed.

The little kitties were terrified in a box when they were rescued in Coed Bach park last week by a member of the public. They were then rushed to The Haven veterinary surgery in Llanelli where they have been cared for ever since.

“All three cats are doing well, two have beenspayed and going to their new homes on Monday but one was pregnant.”

“We will keep the pregnant cat with us until she has risen her babies, then she will be spayed and go to her forever home.”
