A pet lover successfully captured the tender moment their sick cat reached out to them on his last car ride to the vet.
Reddit username abernha3 shared the touching photo online where it has attracted hundreds of comments from fellow cat lovers.
Abernha3 went on to explain they knew Andrew’s life was approaching the end when he stopped purring with happiness.
“He held our hands on his last trip to the vet. Little Andrew was much stronger than his mom and I,” the user commented.
After receiving kind messages of condolences, the user went on to say: “Thanks all. Little Andrew was my junior.
“He was 15 and a half and loved everyone, but just got old and sick over the last year. He purred every day of his life and when he lost that, I knew it was time.
“Always sad to lose a friend. Sorry for everybody else’s losses as well.”
Many users responded by sharing some of their own experiences of losing a pet:
“So sorry for your loss, brought memories of my beloved Cleo, I held her hand on the last moments at the vet and that’s something that, for good or for bad, I will never forget,” one user commented.
“As sad as it is to remember it though, it also makes me remember all the amazing good loving moments we enjoyed together.
“Much love to you and your future feline family members”
Another user stated: “Russian greys are great cats, from the ones I’ve met they form pretty close bonds with their immediate family. My tux (only a little white on his neck) holds my hand like that.”
